“ We had the omakase for two. Our server was very very kind, and the food was great. We were both very full by the end of it, which was a bit difficult because we were looking forward to the uni-don but felt like we were too full by that time. I found the uni mousse very intriguing. Would recommend for the whole experience. ”
“ We got the omakase (195 for 2) but did not expect to get so much food! I don’t usually like sea urchin but they had some good ones from Hokkaido. I would definitely recommend this place if you like uni/sea urchin! ”
“ If you are into specialty item sushi like uni and lobster you should try this place out. Very fresh uni from bc and Japan. Servers are very friendly and attentive. A fun place with authentic Japanese food and interior. Two thumbs up ! ”

Beyond the food, the atmosphere is elegant yet inviting, making it perfect for both special occasions and casual indulgence. Me and my fiance had a great dinner and thanks for everything. :) ”
“ Lovely dinner experience recently at Takenaka Uni Bar! All the servers were very sweet and welcoming Some items do take a bit longer, but definitely worth the wait! The bluefin toro was extremely fresh and delicious, while the Japanese Curry Poutine is surprisingly a great combo - a super comfort food ”
“ Not my favorite spot for sushi in Vancouver, but still a solid dinner experience. The food was fresh and the service was friendly. The uni wasn’t as sweet or creamy as I hoped, but it was still fresh. The hot plates were all delicious, and the sushi plate was definitely my favorite — super fresh and I really enjoyed the DIY style. Great place for a casual and satisfying dinner. ”
“ They have a massive and varied menu from Onigiri, to teishoku or set meals. Hot and cold items including sashimi and curry. There’s something for everyone, even if they don’t eat seafood. The sashimi, uni and hand rolls were all great. I was surprised that the bill was surprisingly reasonable despite pretty aggressive ordering. Would absolutely come again. ”
“ If you're a uni lover looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Takenaka Uni Bar's omakase is a must-try—and absolutely worth the price. The highlight of this omakase is the comparison between Canada uni and Japan uni. Last two pics are the daily special if you prefer to try their onigiri with side dishes (recommended!) Great service and very friendly staff! Will definitely be back again soon. ”
